General information

Surgery is not always necessary to correct the shape of the nose. The most frequently used injectable fillers are hyaluronic acid, also known as filler. During treatment, the fillers are injected into the skin and the tissue under the skin using a fine injection needle. In some cases it is also necessary to use botulinum toxin. One of the advantages of the injection treatment is that the result is visible immediately after the procedure. Unlike conventional surgery, there is no dressing, and the risks are also lower. But not everything can be treated with hyaluronic acid. In some cases, an operation is necessary to achieve the desired result.

The following nose corrections can be carried out using hyaluronic acid injection - filler:

  • Nasal bump: By injecting the filler, the bridge of the nose can be smoothed out to reduce or eliminate the bump.
  • Flat nose: A nose that is too flat can be increased in volume with the filler
  • Nasal asymmetries: Slight asymmetries can be easily corrected by injecting the filler

The following corrections can be obtained by treating the nasal muscles with botulinum toxin:

  • Wrinkle smoothing - Drooping nose tip

What is a filler (hyaluronic acid)?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of connective tissue. It combines with water in the tissue. In the skin, the concentration of hyaluronic acid decreases with age. The result is a less elastic skin that is prone to wrinkles.

Fillers or hyaluronic acid are substances that are injected into the tissues to correct a loss of substance during the aging process. They are most often used to «fill in» wrinkles but can also be used for other areas such as the nose. The fillers used at the Clinique Bellefontaine are exclusively based on natural hyaluronic acid and are completely resorbable.

Treatment procedure
At the Bellefontaine Clinic

Before the procedure

Before each injection of hyaluronic acid, please let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have used other fillers and are taking medication such as blood thinners. We also ask you to come without make-up.

During the procedure

For your comfort, you receive an anaesthetic cream for your nose. If necessary, the nose can also be anaesthetised using a special technique. During the injection, we recommend a special position adapted to your face in order to obtain an optimal result. The injection is carried out in a room suitable for this treatment, where cleanliness and aseptic conditions are required. The injection points are drawn on the cleaned and disinfected skin. Only approved and recognized products are used at the Bellefontaine Clinic. Small redness and swollen areas appear at the injection sites and disappear after 15 minutes.

After the procedure

In order to achieve the best results, you should not massage the nose for 24 hours after treatment or expose it to excessive pressure. It is therefore not recommended to wear glasses directly after the procedure. During the first 24 hours after the treatment, you should also refrain from doing sports, sauna and hammam. As a general rule, you can return to your workplace directly after the injection. Unlike a surgical rhinoplasty, the non-surgical results are immediate and can last from 9 to 18 month.

Risks and side effects

The treatment is generally well tolerated. In the first few days after treatment, there may be slight swelling, local hardening, small temporary bruising or redness at the injection site.
