Before the procedure
During your initial microneedling consultation, we'll discuss your wishes with you. We'll make sure that microneedling is a treatment that can meet your expectations. We'll create a customized treatment plan. To this end, we will carry out an assessment of your skin. Before your microneedling session, please let us know if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, taking medication (Roaccutan), using cortisone or vitamin A creams, have skin problems, or if you have scarring disorders (keloid formation). We will ask you to fill in an informed consent form at your first visit.
The procedure
Your microneedling treatment is carried out in an environment that combines comfort and well-being and complies with hygiene standards. The skin is cleansed and disinfected. Several painless passes are made over the area at different depths to reach all layers of the dermis. These micro-perforations will induce a healing process and cell renewal, accompanied by elastin and collagen production. The skin is transiently pinkish, and small amounts of bleeding may occur if deep treatment is chosen. For certain indications, the passage will be slightly deeper and discomfort may be felt. A microneedling session lasts an average of 20 minutes, followed by the application of a mask to soothe the skin and provide hydration and comfort.
After the procedure
Immediately after treatment, your skin will feel warm and taut. It will also be pink or slightly red, as if you had been in the sun. The redness and warmth should subside after a few hours. But for some customers, it may take a day or two for these side effects to disappear completely. In this case, you can use a cooling face mask to reduce the redness, heat and inflammation.
