Before the procedure
During your initial consultation, we will analyze the thickness of the subcutaneous fat on your back, the quality of your skin (which is essential!) and your weight. It is important to be at a stable weight before the procedure to ensure optimal results. If the skin quality is insufficient, options such as Renuvion may be considered to tighten the skin. Preoperative tests, including a blood test, will be carried out to ensure that you do not have anemia or any coagulation disorders. We are very honest and realistic about the expected results.
The procedure
Before the operation, the areas to be treated are carefully marked by Dr. Favre while the patient is standing, with validation in front of a mirror to ensure perfect symmetry. Patients often decide to add areas at this point. The procedure begins with the injection of Klein's tumescent solution, which reduces bleeding and bruising.
The fat is then suctioned out using Microaire PAL technology, which is known for its precision and ability to create smooth, harmonious contours. If the fat is very fibrous, we use the Vaser technique to release the fat from the fibers. At the end of the procedure, checks are carried out with the patient lying down and standing up to ensure a symmetrical and natural result. Back liposuction generally lasts between 1 and 2 hours and is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or deep sedation.
After the procedure
- Immediate care: A Marena compression garment is put on immediately after the procedure to help the skin adapt to the new silhouette and reduce swelling. This garment must be worn day and night for 3 weeks.
- Recovery: Swelling and bruising are common but gradually subside after 3 to 4 weeks. A feeling of soreness may persist for one to two weeks.
- Post-operative activities: You may shower 48 hours after the procedure, and it is advisable to avoid strenuous physical activity for the first few weeks. LPG Endermologie massages are not mandatory but may be considered depending on individual needs.
The final results are visible between 3 and 6 months after the procedure, once the swelling has completely subsided.
