Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a medical treatment that consists of administering a tailor made cocktail by micro-injections into the skin. Minimally invasive microinjections introduce active ingredients such as hyaluronic acids, vitamins or minerals into the skin. Thanks to this micro-injection, this technique ensures optimal penetration of these active ingredients and therefore offers superior efficacy to all other methods of application.

General information

Mesotherapy was developed in France in 1952. Dr. Michel Pistor, who developed it, hypothesized that a drug had to travel the shortest possible distance to reach the target organ. Dr. Michel Pistor’s definition more than 40 years ago is still as relevant today: the best solution is to inject the product into the skin at the level of the layers that directly require the drug. Hyaluronic acids, amino acids, vitamins or minerals are therefore introduced directly into the skin using a fine needle. The injection is carried out under sterile, serial conditions – each point about one centimetre apart. At the Bellefontaine Clinic, we individually select the cocktail of substances required for your skin.

We recommend mesotherapy in the following cases:

  • Wrinkles, sagging and thinning of the skin on the cheeks, lower eyelids, neck, décolleté and back of the hand.
  • Dry and tired skin
  • Hair loss

The best results are obtained by repeating the mesotherapy several times. For visible results, we recommend two to five treatments at intervals of one to two weeks at the beginning. We recommend refreshment every three to six months. After a series of treatments, the skin is immediately more beautiful, small wrinkles disappear, deeper wrinkles become smaller.

What is mesotherapy with mesolift – hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of subcutaneous tissue. It combines with water in the tissue. In the skin, the concentration of hyaluronic acid decreases with age. The result is a less elastic skin that is prone to wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is injected into the skin to cause wrinkles or dryness due to the aging process. It is also used to “fill in” deeper wrinkles. The hyluronic acids used at the Clinique Bellefontaine are exclusively based on natural hyaluronic acid and are completely degradable.

What is mesotherapy with mesolift cocktails?

Mesolift cocktails are composed of hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and nucleic acids. Mesolift cocktails quickly regenerate the skin, improving its elasticity and firmness. The effects are already visible after the first treatment.

Treatment procedure
At the Bellefontaine Clinic

Before the procedure

Before each mesotherapy treatment, please let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have used other fillers or are taking medication such as anticoagulants.

During the procedure

For your comfort, you receive an anaesthetic cream in the area to be injected. The mesotherapy injection session is then carried out in a room suitable for this treatment, where cleanliness and aseptic conditions are required. The injection points are drawn on the cleaned and disinfected skin. Every centimetre, a micro-injection is made under the skin. Only approved and recognized products are used at the Bellefontaine Clinic. Injections are performed with very fine, short needles or small cannulas. Small pink and swollen areas appear at the injection sites and disappear after 15 minutes.

After the procedure

Avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas after treatment. You can then return to your activities immediately after the injection. Avoid sports, hammam or sauna within 24 hours after the procedure. 3 to 5 sessions are usually necessary at the beginning, but often visible results can already be seen after one session. The duration of the result depends mainly on the condition of the skin and the active ingredients used, but should be visible for several months. After 2-3 months, a new treatment will help maintain the result.

Risks and side effects

The treatment is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects are small temporary bruising and temporary redness or swelling at the injection site. Very rarely, allergic reactions to any of the ingredients are possible.
