Wrinkle treatment

The primary goal of wrinkle treatment at the Bellefontaine Clinic is to achieve a fresh, natural and relaxed appearance. We use an individual treatment plan for each patient to meet all needs. Wrinkle treatment is based on botulinum or natural hyaluronic acid filler that is completely resorbable. If necessary, we also treat wrinkles using your own fat.

General information

Botulinum gives the face a calm and relaxed appearance, the facial features are less drawn. Botulinum is mainly used for wrinkles caused by facial expressions. These include the so-called frown lines or crow's feet. Fillers or hyaluronic acid are suitable for the treatment of deep wrinkles (e.g. nasolabial lines) or small wrinkles that are already fixed (e.g. lip wrinkles, cheek wrinkles).

What is botulinum ?

Botulinum is a medicine produced from a natural bacterial protein. Botulinum has been used in ophthalmology and neurology for more than 25 years. It has also been used in aesthetic medicine for many years. Botulinum is most often used as a medicine against expression lines such as frown lines or excessive sweating under the arms. The botulinum products we use are not tested on animals.

Treatment procedure
At the Bellefontaine Clinic

Before the procedure

Before injecting botulinum, please notify us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication such as anticoagulants or antibiotics, or if you have nervous or muscular disorders.

During the procedure

For your comfort, you receive an anaesthetic cream in the area to be injected. The botulinum injection session is then carried out in a room suitable for this treatment, where cleanliness and aseptic conditions are required. The puncture points are drawn on the cleaned and disinfected skin. The botulinum is precisely injected into the muscle by Dr. med. Yann Favre with a very fine injection needle. Only approved and guaranteed products are used at Bellefontaine. The treatment lasts between 10 and 30 minutes. Small redness and swollen areas appear at the injection sites and disappear after 15 minutes.

After the procedure

You can then return to your work or daily activities immediately afterwards. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas after treatment. You should also avoid sports and make-up for 24 hours after the injection. If necessary, a check-up with an additional injection is offered 15 days after treatment. The effect of the treatment begins 2 to 5 days after the injection and is maximum 15 days after the injection. The more the molecule is used, the less it is necessary to use it, which makes it possible to reduce the frequency of injections over time.

Risks and side effects

Local swelling, bruising and mild headaches possible.
