Stem cells for skin damage and wrinkles –
Bio-Lifting for the skin

The cell renewal process slows down as we age, and the first signs of ageing become visible, especially on delicate facial skin. Cell breakdown and renewal occur at different rates. This process cannot be stopped, but can be visibly slowed down with modern stem cell therapy. One of the aims is to build up the lost subcutaneous fatty tissue which improves the elasticity and flexibility of skin on the face, décolleté and neck.Stem cells promote collagen, a very important component of the skin and the aging process. With the help of a mini liposuction, a small amount of fat is removed. The stem cells are then extracted from the fat, processed and injected into the aging skin or scars.

General information

Stem cells promote collagen, a very important component of the skin and the aging process. Collagen is an essential component of our skin. Collagen gives the skin its firmness, elasticity and suppleness. With age, the production of collagen slows down from the age of 25. External influences such as the sun and smoking, but also the hormonal situation in the body can still contribute to this. The consequences are a loss of thickness and elasticity of the skin, small wrinkles appear. Stem cells are currently already being used in other medical specialties such as othopedics, neurology and endocrinology. Wrinkle treatment with stem cells from the body is minimally invasive. Two treatments eight weeks apart give optimal results. The actual effect of the stem cell treatment can be observed after about two to three months. Not only for wrinkles, but also for scars, skin stem cell therapy gives very good results.

Treatment procedure
At the Bellefontaine Clinic

Before the procedure

During the first consultation, we make sure that a treatment with stem cells is a good indication for you. To this end, we clarify questions about your general state of health. Before this treatment, please let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and if you are taking medication such as blood thinners. Smoking should ideally be stopped 3 weeks before and 3 weeks after the operation.

During the procedure

The procedure consists of 3 steps: First, an anesthetic is applied to the area where the fat will be removed. Then a cannula is used to remove some of the fat tissue, for example from the abdomen. The fat is then prepared using a special technique. By centrifugation, the cells are separated from the other components of the fat. The solution is then filtered and concentrated. The rest of the mesenchymal stem cell concentrate can then be injected into the skin of the face, hands, neck or décolleté, possibly in combination with the previously removed fat. The injections are performed with very fine, short needles. Small redness and swollen areas appear at the injection sites and disappear after 15 minutes.

After the procedure

After treatment, antibiotics must be taken for two days. It is not necessary to wear a compression garment. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas after treatment. You can then return to work or activities immediately afterwards. It is advisable to perform a second session 8 weeks after the first session. Usually, the treatment lasts 12 to 24 months.

Risks and side effects

The treatment is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects are small temporary bruising and temporary redness or swelling at the injection site.
